I love my job.

So I love my job.
Have I not said that enough?
Well, let me tell you some reasons why I love my job....
1) FANTASTIC guests! There have been some guests that have made my day better, there have some that have made my blog... but there is one family that has truly come in and made me feel part of it all. Mostly I feel like Billy's girl that he tries to woo. (He's so darn cute, how can anyone dream of resisting?!) Billy is an amazing kid. He's about 5 years old, a Disney Trivia guru, and he's definitelyconfident in himself. He's awesome, adorable, and probably going to have another school year of juggling 5 girlfriends at one time. I know that Billy and his little brother Ryan will have a great time back home, and I can't wait until they come back and visit again :D
2) I love to take a moment and to see the magic. Sometimes riding the monorail and hearing the squeals of little girls as they see the castle for the first time. Or sometimes I will sit in the Contempo Cafe and see little kids dressed up for the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It is one of my favorite times, seeing kids excited to be here in Walt Disney World.
3) I was deployed for a week to Disney's Old Key West Resort . It was a GREAT time! There were a lot of great kids as well as employees there. I met Stephen, Debbie and also Rich. I met other great people there and on my one day at Saratoga Springs I met Sundee and other great people. I love it there and would love to go back!!
4) I love the dance parties!! While I was at Old Key West I learned a really cool dance. I hope you guys enjoy!!! Cuz I sure did.

Alrighty, next I should probably mention Chad Kegan Hobby. He's an amazing fella' who makes me happy and giggle all the time. I love being around him and he met my family when they came down. So... I'm going to turn the computer over to Chad so he can introduce himself. :P

Hello followers of Jules! I will be brief since you came here to listen to the words that flow sweetly from her fingertips as opposed to my caustic language. I'm Jules's newest and lastest boyfriend. Expect a news feed shortly following this, concerning an implication of the latter statement. I like to think of myself as one of those knights in shining armor, and I promise you that I'll always strive to be that way for Jules. I am a Physics major, but I dabble in philosophy. My favorite color is brunette (like Jules). I love Jules. I like moist desserts. So I never have typical birthday cake for my birthday. I always have a giant cookie, or an ice cream cake, or a chocolate pie. I think of punctuation as the spice of literature, and when I'm writing I am the chef, which means I can add as little or as much of it as I please. I was born on November 2, 1987. Jules was born on January 11, 1988. November is the 11th month. She was born on the 11th day. COINCIDENCE?!?! I think not. If you can't tell I like to make people laugh and I was voted most intelligent missionary by Bishop North in Tustin, CA. I am all done

Yup... that's Chad. :D He makes me laugh. A lot.
So that's the update for now. I will do a blog on my family coming down after all the pics have been stolen from facebook onto my computer!!

:D ^.^

So I was having a tough week last week, but then something AMAZING happened! One of my favorite people in the world came and visited me! His name is Elliot, he was my FHE brother my first semester up at BYU-Idaho. I saw him while I was still on the clock and ran over and hugged him. The first words that came out of his mouth were, "Jules! You're black!" And for those of you unfamiliar with Idaho coloring please google the color "bright white" and then compare it to my skin as of now. Compared to white, my skin is pretty darn dark. :)
Any who. So the very next day was spent at the parks. We went to Hollywood Studios first. We did the back lot water special effects show and then we did the back lot tour! We got to see some Star Wars vehicles as well!!! :O
Then we headed over to Star Tours, we were able to ride it not once, but TWICE! :D It was pretty awesome! Then we did all the other things that we could do in Hollywood Studios, like getting a yoda backpack for training purposes, borrowing Bo Bo Fett's helmet, you know, small stuff like that :P
Then we headed to Epcot and visited all 11 countries!!!! AMAZING! We also spent some time in Japan, fun place. Then we went to see Captain EO and from there we caught the tail end of the fireworks. Then we hopped on the monorail and got there just in time for Wishes at Magic Kingdom! It was a great day!
Over the next few days I would get Elliot into the parks and we would go on a ride or two and then I would head for work while he explored. I told him to do the Dole Pineapple float, and let's just say that the server and Elliot got to know each other pretty well. ;) And then one night I got off early and we went to Magic Kingdom where Elliot got his first Disney Turkey Leg. Yum!
On his last night here we were able to get me an Early Release and so I went with him to Downtown Disney and we saw the AWESOME Legos!!! And then we took a cab to my apartment and he briefly met my roommates, (He and Elisheva spent the day with Eunice in Animal Kingdom!) and Michael was kind enough to let me borrow his car to take Elliot to the man house, (I still owe those guys lasagna! Just waiting to get a red onion!) and after watching the Little Mermaid and Behind Enemy Lines I said goodbye to the most awesomest person in the world, Elliot.
All I can say is, Thank you! Everyone, THANK YOU!!!

Positives

Alrighty! I'm posting something else now. It's crazy how life has been. But I'm going to tell you about some of the positive things that have happened!
So at work I was able to have some fun at the Bay Lake Towers. I met some awesome families, like Rodger and his family, as well as John and his family of kids that were my age, and a little boy named Tate.
While I worked at BLT pool I was able to get really close to some of the families there. Roger and I worked Pitchburst, basically a dunk tank but a balloon is popped over your head when someone hits a target, and we had a really fun time. We connected with the guests, specifically Rodger and his family. They kept coming back to the pool and didn't even want to go to the parks while they stayed at BLT. It was really cool seeing them and getting to know them. Their daughter had her 14th birthday there as well! Really cool family, and we got on a first name basis, as you can tell, and they literally made my week better. Then Rodger and his family wrote a very kind note to my manager who then told me I did a good job. Honestly, I was treating Rodger and his family as I would want mine to be treated!
There was also a couple of twin girls that came in and were dressed alike. Brandy Rae and I were talking with them and we were admiring their outfits and how they matched! Then we said, "We should dress alike!" And then we looked down... white shoes, check, blue shorts, check, bright yellow/red/black shirts, CHECK! Blonde moment anyone? I blame the sun exposure!
Then there was a little girl named Jordan. She was ADORABLE and she became very attached to me. I did my best to be her friend and I even came in on my day off to see all my new friends for a game of pitchburst. The line got really long when they realized I had come in and was going to sit in the chair. Jake, my 14 year old friend, was eager to pop the balloon, but it was Reese who actually got me!!! She did well!
At work Lauren and I look VERY much alike. So sometimes people will get us confused and think that she was just at the pool, but it was really me, or that I never had a day off, but Lauren would be there with all my fav families! But Lauren is AMAZING! and Definitely CUTE!
The family that was mostly 20 year old kids, Johns family, they were AWESOME! They would come and play with me in my activities, they would talk with me about random things, we would all dance in Community hall for the kinect and it was just a TON of fun! They also would shout my name from insane distances just to see me dance!
One time they were like, JULES!!!! And I started to dance, and they said, "WE GOT YOU SOME CANDY!" and then I danced some more and they gave it to me. It was awesome! I miss them and wish I got to say bye to them before they left... but alas... it wasn't so. I miss them dearly.
Then just the other day there was Tate. I was leading an activity, the water balloon toss, and there was a boy about 12 years old that came up and took a balloon and ran into the pool. Kind of odd. I asked him not to do that, and prevented him from doing it again. I asked him if he wanted to participate but he said no.
I figured out that he is a special case.
I then finished up my activity a little early, Holden and Hope's family were the grand winners!!! (GREAT family!) And I saw this boy scratching off letters from the lifeguard stand. I went up to him and I asked him, "Would you like to help me with something?!" he was shy at first, but came up to me and said "Yes!" I had him Hula Hoop for a few minutes, and I threw it for him a couple times and he did even better. Then I made the announcement, "Ladies and gentlemen! Up here we have Tate! He's an AMAZING hula hooper and he's just won a rubber ducky!" So I gave it to him and he got to play with it. He disappeared afterwards... I don't know where he went, but I'm glad I got to see him and reward him for doing something fun.
Afterwards a dad came up to me and thanked me.... I don't know why but I feel like it's what everyone should do. Tate deserved a prize, I knew he didn't want to do things with all the other kids, so I picked him out when I could, and got him to smile. It's not just my job, it's who I am. I want to make people happy, I want them to smile. And when they do, they get to pass on the happiness. I'm grateful for my job. I absolutely love it. It's long hours in the sun, but I know if I put my all into it then it's worth it... it always is.
Well, that's it so far. The positive things in life.
Remember, count your blessings, and as President Bell says, "When you count your blessings, there's usually a face that goes with it." And it's true.... every one of those faces... every one of those families, those kids, I'm grateful for.

Yo!

Alrighty, so I realized that I have not really told you guys what it is that I do on a daily basis...
Basically what I do on a daily basis is throw a pool party and do relay races and games and stuff. Oh and I do dance parties.... yeah, I dance! Not well, but I dance! Funny thing about the dance parties that I throw. The lifeguards actually knew me as the girls that can't dance. However, kids will dance with me as freely as they wish. They will have no shame because there's a girl next to them that can't dance worth beans!
I will also bribe kids. I tell them that if they bring up a parent then they will get a prize. THEN I bribe the parents. "The most ENTHUSIASTIC parent that comes up will get an even bigger prize!" Usually a little beach ball, but WAY fun! I get grown men to do the CHICKEN DANCE! That and I get them to do it with ENTHUSIASM!!!! I love it! We do the Cupid Shuffle, we do the Ice Cream Freeze, the Cotton Eye Joe, and the Hoedown Throwdown the hokey pokey and then the chicken dance! We also do the macarena as well. :D
I also do other games as well. I run relay races in the pool. I do some hot potato games with water balloons. I also do a few other games as well. We also play Mickey Pluto, marco polo.
When the pool festivities are done I head in for a small break then set up a campfire. We roast marshmallows over a campfire and talk with guests. Then after that I set up a movie screen and then run a few errands and I get to sit behind the movie screen by the projector and watch the movie.
That's my job in a nutshell.
A week or so ago I went to the park with one of the lifeguards, Richard. We were getting breakfast in Magic Kingdom when a dad came up to us and offered me a chair in the crowded restaurant. I turned and he said, "OH! Hey there Jules!" He was one of the guests that I got to dance and have fun at my pool party. He's started saying that he enjoyed it. He recognized Richard too because sometimes the guards will get up and dance with me. :D It's funny because sometimes the guards will come up to me and say, "Let's dance.... now." heehee.
A few weeks ago I was able to go to Hollywood Studios and volunteer for the special effects WWII water deal. There are some pictures that I'm tagged in. Basically I was told to run around with my arms in the air and pretend that I got scared when the water came out at me.
Let's just say that I didn't need to pretend, I got scared and jump every single time.
Waaaaaaay fun. Thanks Michael Dixon, Richard Feliciano, and Kelly Sawyer for making that a GREAT day!
Alrighty, I HAVE to get going to work. You all have a great day!
Oh and this is one of the views that I got after work one day

Pre-Update Update~

Please don't hate me.....
Yesterday turned out to be far more crazy than I thought it would be. So here I am doing a pre update to my blog update. I'm going to post some pictures of where I work and then later I will have an update of what's been going on in my life!! Sound good? It better, because you don't really have a choice....So the first set of pictures are from Wilderness Lodge. My FAVORITE place to work at. The second place is from the contemporary with a shot of the Bay Lake Towers. Not shown is the monorail that goes through the Contemporary towards Magic Kingdom. Pretty cool. Anyways, that's my pre update update! I have to go get ready for work! Until Friday, take care!

Work

So yesterday I had the opportunity to work at the Contemporary! It's a really nice hotel and it was the 2nd to open at WDW and it was the first to bring in $$$$. It's a cool place. I did a party, basically I roll out a music cart by the pool and have children's activities ready for the kids to do. I also put on a swimsuit and did all sorts of pool games with the kids. It's way fun, quite a bit of prep work and being quick on your feet, but it's a lot of fun :)
Anyways, I have to get going, but I'll keep ya'll updated! I'm going to also be training at the Wilderness Lodge today :D

Adventures!!! Old and new :D

So I wasthinking that I could put things off because of the whole rhapsody ... er, rapture thing that we had going on. Also, I was REALLY busy... taking pictures! :D
Okay, so I have some things that I would really like to go over before I go into what's all been going on here in Disney World.

First thing that I would like you
to know about is one of my absolute favorite trips while I was home. I had the opportunity to be with my little brother and my best friend Kevin for pretty much a whole day. We had several adventures, including Super Burger, strolling downtown Santa Rosa, and braving a wonderful bookstore that left us with great ideas and wishing we could
buy many books within. We met with Woodstock, Lucy and also Marcy! For those of you don't know this, Santa Rosa California is the hometown of Charles Schulz, the creator of Snoopy and the gang. :) While up there we also toured to campus of Sonoma State University. With alumni Kevin asour tour guidewe were able to truly enjoy the beauty of the school grounds.
Yup. Great day in Cali.
Now for another great day in Cali. My mom, dad, lil brother and I decided to go to SF!! erm... TWICE! Haha, we went once to the Japanese Tea Gardens and then the science place right across the way. The second time we went was to drop me off for the airport, we went to the Giants stadium for that one. Both times were great days for San Francisco. Now I
will let the pictures speak for themselves. :D I hope that you ENJOY!

We also went to Tahoe for Mother's day weekend. It was fun! I loved it.
In other news, I have started at DISNEY!!!!! On the first day that I could enter the parks for free with my Disney ID I went to the wrong entrance... I unknowingly followed cast members to the cast entrance, no the front. Embarrassed I went back the way I came and finally found the park. It was also Star Wars opening weekend. :) I have the following pictures as proof. Chris and Mark were also in town during this time, it was a blast, I already miss them.
I will be working at the Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness Campgrounds, Contemporary, and the DVC (Hotel sort of place that is for Disney Vacation Club members) as a children's activities person.
All in all it should be a lot
of fun. Oh and I couldn't forget Mike. We have a friend here. My roommate's friend Mike. (BTW, my roommates are amazing!!! There's Elisheva from Sac, Bethany from Minnesota, Kelly from Colorado, Chelsea from Washington State and Amber from Texas) Mike was sitting at the table with us... however, not for long.... By the way, as I typed this Ben Kweller's "Falling" started to play, irony? And for those of you wondering, yes, he is on the floor, yes that is a fallen chair in front of him, and lastly, yes, he is pouting. ^.^ Okay, well I have to get going now. I have work today at the Contemporary, training, again. But I'm glad! Alright, until next time....
P.s. If you're wondering why I don't have pictures of CJ up, it's because my dad is the one who has the pictures of him, I can't seem to steal them from facebook anymore :/ So this will have to do. Have fun people.
P.s.s. Auditions for characters takes place june 21st

In one piece... erm... except my luggage....

So I'm in Orlando now! Wooohooo! You know it's a large airport when you have to take a shuttle (similar to BART) just to get to the baggage claim! But it's nice not having to walk all that distance!
Anyways, I got off to a rocky start on American Airlines. In San Francisco I said goodbye to my family, it was a solemn moment, filled with lots of crying and declaring of one's love for me... ;) Haha, it's how everything is in the family, filled with smiles, hugs, advice and brothers trying to seem macho and not needing to hug their sister. (of course they were also thinking of how nice it will be without my stuff in the house).
My dad came in with me to check my bags and instantly we knew something was wrong. There was a fatty line... and people were upset about stuff. Fast forward about 30 minutes and I've checked my bags and I'm saying bye to my dad. I can't wait to see them all again in October! I checked my flight and found that I would be delayed 30 minutes... then an hour... and then we boarded the plane, sat there for about 30 minutes while soothing music and movies on nature played and then we were told that there was a malfunction on the plane and we had to
switch planes.
Luckily they caught that before we took off. I would much rather be 3 hours delayed and still be able to work for Disney than be dead. So we boarded the plane and I prayed that I could make it on time for my connecting flight in LA.
As we pulled up to the gate I had about 15 minutes before the plane was to take off, luckily our plane unloaded fast and I was able to get onto the flight to Florida. However, one of my bags seems to have had a disagreement with the other and they needed some separation time. While the large red bag (that is the more important bag) had no trouble getting on the plane, my other one had some issues with this concept. After waiting at the Orlando airport for a sign of my luggage I was helped out by a very nice (looking) mannered employee and he immediately helped me to locate the missing bag (Did I mention he had an accent? That seems like it should be important). I had be afraid that my bag had been mistaken for another's and that it was on it way to someone's hotel, but luckily that isn't the case. It just didn't make the flight, so now it's on another flight that'll be landing around 10am.
Other fun news, I was woken up on the airplane to see THIS face, Justin Bieber. Yeah, i thought that I was suffering from a nightmare... and unfortunately I wasn't. It was a full length movie on the boy followed by him messing with his crew, getting owned by said crew, and then being chased by a hoard of teenage girls. With a slow-motion whip of your head you too could have the Bieber look! :( It could be worse, and it became worse! Next I woke up to an image of Alec Baldwin on the T.V. screen... 'Nuff said.
Now I'm just waiting at the airport for about 7 am local time to check in for the shuttle and then to go to my new apartment. Yay Disney!!! ...

Packing

So I'm going to be leaving tomorrow, that means packing today. I've thought about it and I've decided that packing sucks, so I might as well watch some Lord of the Rings! While packing I'll have to add some clocks as well, just to make life interesting at the airport. ;) haha, naw, I couldn't do that, I'm on my way to Disneyworld!!! Excited, but I have a ton of stuff to do beforehand...

Getting Ready!

Well everybody! I've made the blog!
Today I gave a talk in church, things that matter most. Kevin came by and he mentioned to me afterwards that I managed to look like an evil librarian and a teacher at the same time. Conveniently I also mentioned in my talk rare books and children! So apparently, win WIN! Woohoo.
Anyways, I am really going to miss my friends and family here in California. I already miss my friends and family in Idaho, and I'm missing my family in Texas, too.
'Nuff said.
Okay, so I'm leaving for Disney World on Tuesday evening so I can check in BRIGHT and early on Wednesday morning! So as a sleep deprived college student I will be getting my employee ID photo taken, and hopefully I will be able to do just fine. :)
Anyways, the hopes are that I will be able to update this blog weekly, or when anything neat or cool happens. :)
Until next time...
Jules
